I received an offer from Charter offering a free Roku 3 when you sign up for their streaming service. I was considering Sling but this seems like a better deal.

I’m curious to know how it works, specifically whether I can watch whatever program I want whenever I want or if I have to watch programs live as they’re broadcast. I’m so used to watching TV on the TiVo and don’t want to have to go back to the bad old days where you had no control over when the programs ‘aired’.

I have Charter streaming plus. It’s like regular tv, no dvr. You watch stuff live. I got it because my local channels don’t come in good at all with an antenna. I get 47 channels including 7 HBO channels for $20 a month.

I can also get on demand for some of the channels by adding the channel apps to the supplied Roku box. HBO Go, NatGeo, History are a few of them I get.
